1588-Amsterdam 1664. Also named Jan Janssonius de Jonge, Jan Janszoon Brouwer
and Jan Jansz. Pascaert. Mapprinter and publisher. He married Elisabeth
HONDIUS, daughter of Jodocus I. In 1618 he entered into the Guild of
Booksellers. In 1629 he took over de firm of his father-in-law, with his brother-in-law
Hendrik Hondius II. After Janssonius' death in 1664, his son-in-law Jan van
WAESBERGEN carried on the firm, under the name Janssonius-Waesbergh.
Address in Amsterdam was: "op 't Water in de
Pas Caert" "a la Carte de Marine". He had multiple shops in
Frankfurt, Dantzig, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Geneve and Lyon. According to
Waller, the heir of Janssonius: HAEREDES Joannis Jansz., or Janssonii worked
from 1664 until 1666 on the same address. But there was also a Haeredes Joannis
BLAEU about 1682.

mentioning Visscher specifically as the engraver.
