Pieter van der Heyden, also called Petrus à Mercia, (according to Hollstein his initial was PAVE, according to Museum Boymans van Beuningen PAME) was one of Cock's most important engravers. He engraved after Brueghel.
In 1601 Cock's widow died and many plates of the stock were sold to Ph. Galle and H. Goltzius. Later Claes Jansz. Visscher bought copperplates from Cock's studio. Cock also had connections with Plantijn who worked as Cock's agent in Paris and Frankfurt. In return, Cock sold Plantijn's books in Antwerp.   Cock never bought existing copperplates.
